Like most music fans today, I was surprised and saddened by the sudden death of Dolores O’Riordan. When I think of the 1990’s, I think of The Cranberries. I didn’t have cable (or MTV) when The Cranberries released their first album, but I remember seeing them featured in several magazines. Dolores’ blonde pixie cut and baby tee on their album cover made her look like one of the coolest women to me. When I finally heard one of their songs during an episode of My So-Called Life, I was hooked. “Dreams” and “Linger” are still two of my favorite songs.
I won’t speculate on Dolores’ life or death, but I will celebrate her music and the amazing talent that she shared with the world.
