The following is an untitled and undated poem about love lost. I imagine this was written in the early 2000’s.
Even after years have passed
And the details of your face
Are faded like the pages
Of the diary where I
Blissfully recorded memories
And moments filled with you.
After those times I want to call you
But I can’t remember the number
Not that it wasn’t disconnected
When I tried to call before
And the emails are undelivered
And from home you’re long gone.
After I forget your slight imperfections
And your laughter doesn’t ring in my ears
And I can’t hear your voice anymore
When those sunrises we shared
Were three thousand moons ago
I’ll realize it’s really over.
Though time has passed
And memories have yellowed
I remember the love you gave
And how you shook my universe
And altered my world
I’ll always remember you.

Nice. I’d call this one “After Love”… You got another poem for me? Lord knows I need one. 😶
