A Poem – Week Eleven

The following is a poem that I wrote in the early 2000’s. It’s about wanting something that is elusive.

Searching

Love always seems to be

Something out of my reach

I observe it with other people

But never find it for me.

I’ve been looking around

Find no one suitable

Find no one to love

Till it’s only me looking down

I don’t want to give in

Don’t want to stop fighting

But they only see my body

And the temptation of sin.

Love is elusive to me

Like an undiscovered beast

Leaping, bounding away

Will love ever be?
