A Poem – Week Nineteen

This is a poem about a flower that is not a flower.  It was written around 1994.  Ouch, 25 years really goes fast.  I distinctly remember writing this poem.

Flower

You grew from a seed

To a beautiful flower

You tower

Above all the little flowers

As you rise towards the sun

You bloomed in the spring

And attracted all the attention

A flower could bring

The rain

Is coming down

Sweet, delicate flower are you

In pain

You start to fall

The once large flower

You look so small

Now you are on the ground

Not a staring flower to be found

As you lay in your flower bed

Flower you are dead.
