This poem is about the type of person that rejoices when someone fails and despises seeing anyone succeed.  It was written on October 13, 1997.

I am looking for someone

To love me for me

Around every corner

There’s someone I see

But it doesn’t matter

They’re not right for me

They smile in my face

And stab me in my back

When I am down and hurting

It is their time to laugh

When I get off my knees

It is their time to frown

The only time they’re happy

Is when they see me down

When they see me stumble

They only push me further down

When they see me up

They grab my hands

And try to pull me down

When I flourishing with riches

They steal them from me

When I am lost and broken

They then laugh in my face

They never want to see me fly

They want to see me fall

It is their worst moment

When I am walking tall.
