I tried to write a poem for the first time in a very long time. I feel very rusty at it. I’m not going to judge it or make excuses for it. As people say, “it is what it is.”
You Can Break My Heart
You can break my heart
And leave me adrift in
The middle of the dark sea
With no way back to shore.
You can only stay for a while
Not for the years we’d planned
You’ll fly away one day
And leave me hopelessly adrift.
No regrets of a moment
Gathering every instance
And saving them in my soul
For when you break my heart.

Dimplesandgrins.com is on a joy seeking mission. It is a place of celebration and inspiration. At the same time, I am not afraid to explore the darker, sadder parts of life because life consists of both joyful and sorrowful moments (plus, a lot of other emotions).
