A Poem – Week Thirty-Five

This poem was written on February 27, 1997. It’s about wanting a toxic person out of my life.

Go Away

You are no good for me

I wish you would go away

As long as you are here

Pain will always stay

You never pick me up

You always bring me down

The sun goes away

Whenever you are around

You get in the way

Of my big dreams

You depress me

With your no-brain schemes

Once upon a time

You were just fine

But as time went on

You didn’t refine

Over a period of time

You seemed to get worse

I feel like I’ve been burdened

With your low-down curse

I wish you would

Just leave me alone

When you go away

Bad luck will be gone.
