A Poem – Week Thirty-Eight

I’m knee deep in teenage angst going through the pages of this notebook. This poem was written on October 19, 1996. Did anyone manage to make it through their teen years without any angst? If so, you should write a book about it.

Alone

Sitting alone one starry night

Longing for someone to hold me tight

Wishing for someone to hold

Will I forever be alone

Feeling isolated from the crowd

Feeling so sad

Wishing I was happy

But instead feeling bad.

Searching for someone

That is right for me

I keep on looking

Will I ever see?

Thinking this starry night

Will things ever be right

As I long for someone to hold

Will I forever be alone?
