A Poem – Week Forty

This poem about an imaginary person was on written September 10, 1996.

Sunshine

Waking up from a fab dream

Knowing it’s all about you.

I still have a smile on my face

Knowing it will be true.

Could it be I’m falling in love?

But I can’t help myself,

I don’t need no one else.

I can feel you around me

When I am alone.

It is you that I see

Watching the sun go down

Wondering still

Will you be around?

Don’t leave me in the rain.

Don’t bring me any pain

Because you are my sunshine.

That’s why you’re mine.
