A Poem – Week Forty-Four

This poem written October 11, 1996 imagines a personified rainbow.

Rainbow

Appearing only after rain

There you are

To help ease the pain

When troubles are over

You mix with sunshine

If there’s a solution

I’m sure you’ll find

Bringing out the lovely

In everything

Here you come

With your familiar ring

But I haven’t seen you

In a long while

You should come back

To make me smile

Come and stop the rain

And make me stop feeling

Like I’m insane

Hurry up this way again

My shining bright

Rainbow friend.
