A Poem – Week Forty-Five

This poem, written in late 1996, is about my love for music. This is the second poem to mention the Jodeci song, “Get On Up.” I still love music and can’t go a day without it.

Music Maniac

When I’m sad

It’s Mary

It’s Tupac

When it’s scary

Jodeci

When I want to

“Get On Up”

When I’m in the rain

I listen to Mary’s pain

Any kind of music

To fit my mood

Any kind of music

To make me groove

Jamming through the radio

Morning, noon or night

Dancing my heart out

Whenever the time is right.
