Writing

A Poem #2

Queue up Joni Mitchell’s chorus before reading this poem, šŸŽµ”Don’t it always seem to go when you don’t know what you got till it’s gone.”šŸŽµ This poem was written sometime in 1996.

All Alone

Now that you’re gone

I’m all by myself

I’m all alone

I never had enough time

To spend with you

But you were still mine

We were so happy

When we were together

At least in my mind

The pain I felt

Was similar to death

The pain was unbearable

That day you left

I still need you

I should have done better

When you were here

I write you sad letters

I shed many tears

Though you will never be back

I will still pray

Though you’ll never love me again

My love will stay

I couldn’t keep our love alive

I only appreciate you

Since you’ve been gone

The first time I felt something

I felt all alone.
