Writing

A Poem #2

Queue up Joni Mitchell’s chorus before reading this poem, 🎵”Don’t it always seem to go when you don’t know what you got till it’s gone.”🎵 This poem was written sometime in 1996.

All Alone

Now that you’re gone

I’m all by myself

I’m all alone

I never had enough time

To spend with you

But you were still mine

We were so happy

When we were together

At least in my mind

The pain I felt

Was similar to death

The pain was unbearable

That day you left

I still need you

I should have done better

When you were here

I write you sad letters

I shed many tears

Though you will never be back

I will still pray

Though you’ll never love me again

My love will stay

I couldn’t keep our love alive

I only appreciate you

Since you’ve been gone

The first time I felt something

I felt all alone.
